It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
2.0

I went back and forth on this book and how I was really feeling about it. First let me say this review will have spoilers!
This book is not about a love triangle or even two loves at two separate times, this is a book about domestic abuse and it is tough to read for many reasons.
Lily is our main character and you get to follow her in real time while getting glimpses of her past. She grew up in a home where her father beat her mother on a regular basis and has to keep her home life a big secret.
She meets a man Rhyl on the day of her fathers funeral who gives me vibes for all the wrong reasons from the start. She is falling in love with him and her pattern of abuse is starting all over again.
Colleen Hoover wants you to see the good in Rhyl, the sexy and mysterious man who Lily has given her heart to. Many of the readers have done this, I however saw the red flags flying from day one. I was wanting to put this book down because I was afraid of how it would make me feel.

While this is occurring, one night when out to dinner she sees Atlas, the boy she loved at 15 and you think this is where the triangle picks up, but no, this is where a reason for jealousy picks up and you get to see more of who Rhyl really is.

I'm trying not to give too much away, you can make your own decisions. I think Colleen was trying to show you why a woman stays and how we don't put enough blame on the abusers but she failed to show us the strong woman she was trying to show us...

I can't recommend this book because of personal reasons, but you may love it for different reasons.
