American Pastoral by Philip Roth

There are still things I have to understand, but some I know for sure: it's a great book and Roth is a great writer. I particularly loved the character work, Roth is one to explore the darkest and most turbid depths of human nature; he delivered not only with the "Swedish" but with secondary characters as well. Lastly, the writing was impeccably good. Got nothing else to say, really.
