In this prequel to Graceling, we enter the Dells, the neighboring kingdom to the East. Here monsters live, fabulous creatures like all others except for their bright, unearthly colors and the ability to control minds. Fire is the last human monster, caught up in world on the edge of war, just trying to live her own life.
Just as beautiful and breathtaking as Graceling. I loved all of the characters, esp. Fire, Brigan, and Archer. I hope Cashore writes more about this wonderful world.
