First 5 star fiction book of the year. This is the best fiction book I've read in a while and definitely one I would recommend to others. I'm not usually a historical-fiction person, but the writing in this is absolutely captivating and really draws you into the story. At times, it is sad to read based on the nature of the characters and the relationships, but overall a very well written book, and one that makes me excited to read the rest of the trilogy.
