The Agony of Alice by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
4.0

The book was really fun to read as a teenager. It's meant for kids around 7th grade, but like I said, it's a really wonderful book for anyone older than that too. Because there were a couple of jokes that would soar over normal kids' heads but are a little insensitive, I couldn't give it a five-star rating. However, the story, though predictable, was sweet and taught a good lesson of not judging a person by their looks. Spoiler alert! The person that Alice HATES in the beginning of the book becomes the person that she does not want to leave, and as for the person she LOVES, she turns out to not be very kind.
In the end, I will be reading most of the rest of the series, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 13.
