Amazonia by James Rollins

5.0

I had very low expectations when starting. The idea of the CIA being in the Amazon did not appeal to me but it was a gift and on my shelf for the past two years. I decided to read it, thinking it would just be a quick lazy read to fill up my annual reading goal…

I was mistaken, the way the author blends horror, action, romance, adventure and espionage—and still makes it work is amazing!

It reminded me of The Lost World by Sir Author Conan Doyle but much more detailed, it also had a touch of Journey to the Interior of The Earth by Jules Verne. I enjoyed both of those novels but I always felt like I was left wanting. James Rollins has left no stone unturned in this epic adventure and instead of the amalgamation of genres coming out cheap, it has rather given a little something for everyone to enjoy.
