I liked this a lot better than Priory of the Orange Tree. The characters were interesting and well written. I read this book in chunks and took breaks because it is truly so long and so much plot. so many wonderful gay people in this story. i loved glorian’s courage and a further exploration into the burden of maintaining a bloodline. being seen as just a vessel. dumai was my favorite character and i’m so fucking sad she dies it drives me crazy we need lesbians to live happily ever after wtf I wonder if there’s going to be another book in this world
