The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager

2.0

2.5 What a mess. I've given this author one too many chances to redeem himself and it's clear that's not gonna happen. This book was just a bunch of wasted potential like the last few Riley Sager books.

This author loves his unreliable narrators, which no one has ever liked. This main character drove me crazy drinking herself blind every other page. I was somewhat invested in where the plot was gonna to go but man when the reveals happened I wanted to chuck this book into the trash. I can't stand the cheap misdirects and ridiculous "plot twists". This author thinks random equals plot twist and thats clearly not working. The last 100 pages of this book made zero sense and it was a reach for a genre Riley Sager has no business venturing into.

I feel annoyed that I wasted my time reading this book and this author should stop being chosen for book club picks.
