The Blackhouse is a cop/mystery thriller but it is also a story of facing one's past. The setting on the Isle of Lewis which is an island off the coast of Scotland, makes this novel great. Peter May is a Scottish author and he wrote about where he came from and it is compelling. The Blackhouse checks all the boxes for me. It has really good characters, a wonderful and unforgettable setting, and a very well written plot. Highly recommended!
