A Requiem for Fallen Stars by Hazel S. Wilkes
4.0
Thank you to the author and Nerd Fam for the opportunity to read this as an advanced reader copy!!
I want to start this off by saying that my rating for a book is vastly different when it is traditionally published vs indie publishing.
I would rate this book a solid 4. In terms of story and characters, it is extremely flushed out and I fell in love with the main and side characters very quickly. The setting is great and I feel like this story is so good.
However, I’m taking off a point for pacing. While I appreciate an expansive story when world building, this is too much. I almost DNF’d this at 20% because I kept getting pulled out of it by the over explaining of the world and certain visual elements. I am so glad I didn’t because the story was so good. I can’t wait to see how the author grows and this story gets more attention!!
I highly recommend reading this one, once some edits have been made!
