Gordon Korman started out as a teen with slapstick comedy and the occasional introspective devastation he's perfected here.

It's hard to tell which one of his books is going to be serious, even from the byline and precis. This, like Linked, is relevant and topical with the same kind of unlikely humour despite the serious topic.

This one hits hard. Jaws is a keeper.
