I had an amazing time reading through this world, following these characters' adventures and falling in love with their values.
Not only was this one of my first YA fantasy ventures, but I believe this is possibly one of the best fantasy books out there period.

What I found myself enjoying most was, hands down, no doubt our protagonist. Meira is a loveable character who possesses the perfect mixture of wit, courage, and uncertainty. While following her voyages, I (as most readers no doubt) didn't in the least get tired of her; I wanted to keep reading from this fantastic main character's point of view, which I found not only real, but relatable (y'know if you were ever one of the last remaining survivors of your very own kingdom, and had to strive to barely keep alive...)

The world in this book was no exception when it came to me being wowed.
First of all: the originality!
The concept of an individual kingdom having a single season forever is so simple, yet intrigues me to no extent! So many times the mention of balance surfaces, yet barely anything in the land of Primoria can be described as balanced.
Ms. Raasch thouroughly takes her time in not only beautifully describing the geography of some of the kingdoms, but in actually making us feel the atmosphere of this fantastic land.
The fact that each kingdom's resdidents have a different skin, eye, hair color; that they have their own customs, traditions; flora, architecture and personality beautifully highlights the author's talent of description and world-building.

The PLOT!
This story kept me interested while reading it. When I put the book down, my only thoughts were of the next few precious moments I'd get with this novel. A month later, my thoughts still drift to this captivating world and these fantastic characters, with originality and fast-paced plot, along with everything else really!
The way the events in this book unfold has a brilliant blend of action, romance, character development as well as, obviously, plot development. There are your fair share of "ohmygawd" moments, in which you're obliged to gasp and stare wide-eyed at these pages.

I LOVED the plot-twist that this book comes with, it just makes things so much more delicious and really makes you rethink some of the past chapters of the book. Look forward to it!

The love triangle was another thing I very unexpectedly found myself loving. Both of the male ends are so interesting and loveable, unique and intriguing in their own way that I couldn't decide which I'd like to see Meira next to!

All in all, and basically repeating myself here, Snow Like Ashes is brilliance. I fell in love with this novel: with this story, with this characters, with this world! Not enough good things to say about this fantastic novel, really recommend it!

I apologize for any mis-spelt words! English isn't my first language :)
