The Jigsaw Man by Nadine Matheson

slow-paced

2.0

This was really slow, and by the time things finally started happening at the end I just didn't really care. It was hard to relate to the characters or even like them. There were too many different plot lines trying to be achieved at once, making it hard to follow along.
I knowwww it's fiction, but they're not going to put a detective back in the game on a case that is eerily similar to how she nearly got killed and was on medical leave for. It didn't sound like they were starved for detectives so she had to do it. She very clearly was not okay, and it's odd that anyone would continue to let her be on the case,
especially since victims are jurors in the trial against Olivier that got thrown out and a new jury had to be selected.
I'm also really over the trope of the serial killers targeting the detectives or people involved in trying to catch them.

This seemed like it would have been right up my alley for an enjoyable book, but I just couldn't get into this one.
