Wonderful opener to a gripping series. Dystopian, sci-fi, coming of age tale all in one.
Easy reading, due to the main character not being taught to read/write. There are some amusing phonetic spellings because of that circumstance as well.
If you are looking for a book with a happy ending, this is not for you. However, if you need to know what happens next, go into the second book. That's what I had to do.
