The Forgetting Moon by Brian Lee Durfee

4.0

This book is epic fantasy in the erstwhile tradition of A Song Of Ice And Fire by George R R Martin, Memory, Sorrow and Thorn or The Last King Of Osten Ard by Tad Williams. Readers of either or both series (like me) will find much to appreciate and love in The Forgetting Moon.

Well-written with a very intriguing premise, pacing on point, strong characterisation and multiple POVs handled with expertise, The Forgetting Moon had me immediately reaching for the sequel The Blackest Heart to find out what happens next. An excellent beginning to an epic fantasy trilogy.

A special shout out to the author for the beautiful introduction and acknowledgements which had me motivated to read the book from the get go.
