Wedding Night
by Sophie Kinsella
If you liked the comedy “Blockers” you’ll love this book. 2.5 stars, 2.75 if I’m in a great of mood.
started of great... delightful and captivating... but then became too much. Too too much.... it wasn’t the sweet sweep away I look forward to by this author. the plot felt forced and frustrating — it goes on like, well, Blockers.
My least favorite by this author by a landslide. I suppose it was inevitable — I wasn’t going to loooove every book she ever writes (all the other books I’ve read have been 4-5 stars for me) but this one was so meh and smelly. The foreshadowing is so strong it ruins the plot. It was all tired, predictable, boring stories that left me not caring about any character, save for little Noah. It wasn’t the addictive chicklit rom-com I expected.
Summary:
Charlotte (Lottie) thinks her boyfriend is going to propose but doesn’t (if this sounds like it’s straight out of Legally Blonde it’s because it is as a tired version). While nursing her wounds, she bumps into an ex and they decide they must be soulmates... they decide to marry immediately... Felicity (older sister) and the best man plot to keep the marriage from legally happening; felicity doesn’t want her sister to ruin her life, the best friend has other reasons that are boring. You then ride along seeing all the terrible things that happen to Lottie and Ben. Then too there is Richard who realizes he wanted Lotttie back so he joins in the fray.
