Clean Slate by Raye Wiseman
5.0
First, this was Raye's DEBUT novel, which seriously says a lot on its own when it's a 5-star read in my book. I had nothing to pick apart or complain about with this book!
The blurb alone made it sound like a thrilling read, add a pretty cover and I was SOLD on reading it ASAP. Raye DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I will say that the way that Raye really made Gabriel's storyline align with the book title "Clean Slate", was absolute magic and such a smart way to play on words. Gabriel leaves the craziness of his past and bad decisions to start over and live a more clean lifestyle. But the past doesn't want to let him move on and comes back with a vengeance. The suspense aspect of the storyline was something that I DEVOURED right from the start (I love having twists and jaw-dropping moments that I didn't see coming at all. Raye had me in the palm of her hands with the suspense alone. This book had my mind spinning with possibilities of what will happen next and it was SO GOOD. I loved Gabriel and Emery together, how she was the motivation for him to continue on a straight path and get away from the fast lifestyle. Overall great read and can't wait to see what Raye writes next!
