Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter
5.0
☆ 5 Stars - 9.64 CAWPILE
This had everything I love in YA Romantic Comedies. After reading Betting On You as an ARC, I knew I had to look into more of Lynn Painter's writing and boy was I rewarded for doing so.
I immediately liked Wes Bennett, this funny, sarcastic boy who so clearly was infatuated with our Liz. Their chemistry was just so perfect, and I'm all for enemies-to-lovers and childhood friends-lovers. Ugh I am on such a high after reading this book!!!
On Page 26 when Liz showed up at his house, the conversation between the two of them and his mother made me want to marry him myself if him and Liz didn't work out. THEN this boy said the line 'Not shoes. They're Chucks' and my Converse obsessed soul wanted to put this boy in my pocket and keep him forever.
I kind of wish this had a movie adaptation already, as clearly all of us who have read it and loved it must also be big fans of rom-coms. I can't think of anything better.
