Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook by Anthony Bourdain

funny reflective medium-paced

4.25

There were a couple chapters that were a little weak, but overall I really enjoyed this book. Bourdain wrote like he spoke - snarky and crass, but oddly touching. When he's talking about peoples, places, or food he hates, you can tell he hates them. Talking about people he likes...well, he's irreverent and sarcastic. You can picture his face when he talks about his daughter. I didn't learn much about the culinary industry - I wasn't expecting to. Instead, I got a little glimpse into Bourdain's mind, and isn't that what we're all here for?
