Two Tales Dark and Grim: The Key/The Brothers Piggett by Julie Kagawa, Rachel Hawkins

4.0

This is a great anthology filled with creative interpretations of classic fairy tales. As with all anthologies, some stories are better than others. Here are my personal favourites:

Figment by Jeri-Smith Ready
The Raven Princess by Jon Skovron
Thinner Than Water by Saundra Mitchell
Untethered by Sonia Gensler
Better by Shaun David Hutchinson
A Real Boy by Claudia Gray
Beauty And The Chad by Sarah Rees Brennan
Sell Out by Jackson Pearce

This collection is a heady mix of modernization, traditionalism, queer and straight romances, religion, revenge, witchcraft, dark tragedy and silly comedy. There's something for every reader in these pages to enjoy.
