This was a really incredibly journey. Ren is an old woman who has left the modern world of a military coup and climate disaster behind by withdrawing to a hermitical life in the mountains. There is something so incredibly surreal about the writing. It has a hypnotic, twisting voice and I almost felt that time stopped existing outside of the pages of the novel. I absolutely adored it.
