I really wanted to like this, but sadly it fell short for me.
As descriptive as the text was of the setting, the character development was random and inconsistent. Choices and reactions came out of nowhere and continually regressed for a chapter, making it feel like a TV series that's gone on for too many seasons.
Don't get me wrong, there were some thoroughly enjoyable moments, but sadly, they were overshadowed by mellow-dramatic character choices. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this book.
