This book was not for me. I just didn't think the motivations, decisions, and actions were logical for a lot of the plot points. The first part especially pissed me off-I'd recommend skipping that part. And the ending was confusing. Also the author uses "star" in ways that I'd disagree with. Like a planet wouldn't be a "star" just cause it's far away, would it?? And it has that common sci-fi book flaw where things happen for no reason to create more of a thrill or something when the actual premise of the book is already exciting enough.
there are sexist moments that I assume are just the author's sexism showing. It is an old book, so what can you expect?
