The Secret Life of Groceries: The Dark Miracle of the American Supermarket by Benjamin Lorr

4.0

This book isn’t an exposé as much as it is a confirmation that human behavior is fucked up. The stories the author gathers add up to the muddy mess of a system with no real right or wrong way to navigate. It’s just a continuous migration of injustice that is never experienced by those who are not poor. Shortening supply chains seems like a good step to me, but it isn’t explored in this book.
