The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson

5.0

The multiverse is the new time travel. And this is one damn fine use of it imho. Great plot and story telling and well developed characters. The multiverse allows Johnson to play with what shapes us as people. The various things that change us, and qualities that may be immutable in a person's character despite altered circumstances. Johnson does a great job of world-building without getting bogged down or confusing (something that periodically bugs me about some sci-fi). There's much here about us as individuals, and as societies and classes. Very cool, highly recommended.
