The Strange Journey of Alice Pendelbury by Marc Levy

4.0

I started reading this book at Kevin's request, reading it aloud to him in the hospital. Finishing it is a little bittersweet. The book is a little bit of magic with a lot of bit of history and realism, in a strange twist that could have been magic or not, but the character chooses to believe is magic. I enjoyed this book mostly because of Can. He was clearly a better character than either of our main characters, and the comic relief made the book tolerable during a very dark part of my life. I mean I also didn't predict where it was going, or what was about to happen until the very end so that's impressive. There wasn't really a perfect ending, but there was a decent ending, though I would have prefered the couple go back to Istanbul like Alice promised she would. Anyway, decent story. Worth reading.
