A Black Winter Book 2 in the Seasons Series by Kate Smoak has me hooked!! I can’t stop thinking about it and it left me on a cliff hanger which does not help me at all!! Black Winter picks up where a Bright Summer leaves off.

After Elissa Black’s father made an announcement about a false engagement she leaves town. Riley and Brandt, are both not only struggling to move in without her, picking up the pieces of their lives. Brandt is angry, left taking on both jobs and so he fills the void with women. Riley has fallen into a tail spin with her eating disorder returning.

Elissa is settling into her new life in London with Will her new man that she is in a situation-ship that is easy for her with no strings attached. Elissa gets a call that something has happened to Riley so she rushes back to Toronto. Once she’s returned home she realizes the damage she’s caused.

Riley broke my heart with how much she suffered when Elissa left. I just ended to hug her. Brandt who is trying to fill the void Elissa left, got into a relationship with Lexi knowing he didn’t feel for her the way she did him. I felt so bad for Lexi she deserved better. Will I have nothing nice to say so I won’t say anything at all. Elissa is written so well she is tough but since she wasn’t loved she doesn’t know how to love and avoids it. This book is so and I can’t wait for the next one. I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
