Love Plus One
by Andrea Smith
Lindsey Dennison thought her life couldn’t get messier—then it did. With her family’s drama in full swing and her own love life in shambles, Lindsey turns to none other than Trace "Taz" Matthews, a sexy, no-strings-attached FBI agent. Things heat up fast, but danger, heartbreak, and unexpected twists keep this story far from predictable.
What I Loved:
- Taz: He’s the classic bad-boy FBI agent with layers of vulnerability. His evolution from commitment-phobic man-whore to a man in love was swoon-worthy.
- Lindsey’s Growth: Watching her navigate heartbreak, family drama, and danger while finding her inner strength was inspiring.
- The Chemistry: The tension between Lindsey and Taz is electric, making their romance intense and addictive.
- Dual POV: Hearing both Lindsey’s and Taz’s thoughts made the story richer and more relatable.
- Suspense and Twists: From romantic tension to life-threatening danger, the suspense kept me turning pages.
What Didn’t Work for Me:
- Graphic Content: While the story handles difficult scenes with sensitivity, the graphic rape scene was jarring and felt tonally out of place. Readers should approach with caution.
- Lindsey’s Naivety: Her habit of ignoring Taz’s advice sometimes felt frustrating, leading her into predictable trouble.
Favorite Moments:
- Taz’s protective instincts kicking in when Lindsey is in danger.
- Lindsey standing up for herself and reclaiming her life after tragedy.
- The wedding scene where their connection first sparks—it’s sweet, funny, and unforgettable.
Why It’s Not 5 Stars:
While the romance and suspense were top-notch, the tonal shift with the dark and graphic content pulled me out of the story. It’s still a great read but not quite flawless.
Final Thoughts:
Love Plus One is intense, romantic, and suspenseful. Lindsey and Taz’s journey is filled with heart-stopping moments and emotional growth. Despite its darker elements, it’s a story about love, resilience, and finding joy in unexpected places. I’m definitely sticking with the G-Man series—it keeps delivering the goods!
