Introvert Power: Why Your Inner Life Is Your Hidden Strength
by Laurie A. Helgoe
The book is useful, with some helpful insights.
It was a bit odd to see humanity divided neatly into 53% introvert, 47% extrovert, since the idea of such a divide is statistically untenable. firstly, the same person could take the test repeatedly and fall into both categories at one time or another. Secondly, humans are rarely so neatly divided. We tend to fall into spectrums rather than neat groups.
The tip about dealing with necessary social events by pretending to be a reporter of the event is very promising, as is the idea that American society has a stereotype of "fun" that does not fit most introverts, so we can spiral in negative states of mind, convinced that we are not happy because we do not meet the media's idea of 'fun.'
All in all, a worthwhile book!
