Such a unique story about immigration (and the generational trauma & pressures that often brings), history, ghosts, & monsters. I read this entire book in about 2 hours, the poetic style made it a super quick and easy read! The writing was stunning & every word was intentional. The reason this didn’t get 5 stars from me was because of the ghost relationship (I couldn’t get onboard) & I felt some topics didn’t have enough space in the story to make a huge impact. I wanted a deeper exploration I guess on some of the various themes & relationships. Other than that, I went in not knowing what to expect and came out pleasantly surprised!
