Nubara by Alex H. Singh

3.0

Nubara is a complex tale of the entwined destinies of several people who connect to discover the cause of recent disasters and stop the end of the world. The scene-setting and detail are impressive. At first, I was a bit confused with narrative. However, after the initial high amount of action, the personal interactions helped me get into the groove, as it were. There were some shifting of point of view issues, and omniscient details that sometimes muddled the narrative, but the characters themselves were well-defined, and the dialogue flowed well. I especially liked the interactions between Ashley and Soliel. There were some grammar/punctuation errors that occasionally made me re-read sections to get the correct meaning, but they weren’t endemic. Near the end, the rapidly shifting points of view left me reeling, and I would have preferred a more consistent view of the events. The story itself is solid, though. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable read, with the few caveats above. I look forward to more from this author.
