“You could trust nature but not man”

Harlam Coben’s ‘Tell No One’ begins when Dr Beck begins receiving anonymous cryptic emails suggesting his murdered wife may in fact be alive after eight years, and his race against the FBI and the gang that murdered her to uncover the truth. It is a confusing thriller, violent and unconventional in places but also one where when the twist was revealed and all should’ve come together it still felt a bit patched together and unclear. I read it very quickly, but I would argue this was more down to doing it over two train journeys as oppose to the page turning grip the genre normally evokes. I have little to say as spoilers occur so quickly, but the protagonist was often unrealistically lucky for a very average joe figure and I don’t think this one will really stick with me. I also can't help but think there was a slight amount of racial profiling at play here which is far from ideal... The book was fine, just not a genre I am quote as enamoured with anymore than I used to be a few years ago.
