The Family Remains offered more than I expected. I do have to say that there is a lot of characterization and back story here, so reading (or re-reading) the first book would be helpful. I found myself reaching to remember some of the earlier details. The story also contains a dual timeline that you have to pay attention to so you don't get confused.
All in all, I really enjoyed this follow-up. I loved the character development of Lucy and Rachel. Henry is just...wow. There's a lot to unfold in his character alone. I've read that this is supposed to be the conclusion, but they way the story ends still leaves an opening for more to come from Henry for sure.
