Breaking Nova by Jessica Sorensen
4.0
******Some Spoilers*******
Breaking Nova follows the story of Nova and Quinton. Both experience some life changing situations and loose people they care deeply for.
True to Jessica Sorensen's style, you are immediately drawn in from the first page. The prologue alone is insane and you just want to find out more about the characters and what they are going through and how they are coping.
Breaking Nova takes you on a journey of dealing with life after loss. Nova is just trying to understand what happened to her boyfriend and why his life was cut short. Then she meets Quinton and he awakes something inside of her that she thought was dead. He is just as broken as she is, maybe even worse. However, Nova quickly learns that drugs and alcohol will only hide the problems, they don't fix anything.
Nova has sort of an eye opening experience and decides to change her life for the better. However, you find out that Quinton is just continuing to live his life in a downward spiral. The ending doesn't really end with a cliffhanger, but left me with some questions and the hope that it's not too late to save Quinton.
Breaking Nova isn't so much as a love story, but a story of self discovery, moving on, and not being afraid to ask for help. Tough issues are explored and the characters are very real. Looking forward to reading what happens next.
