This book is the first that I’ve read as part of the Gems series and thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC e-book!
this book really had me in the first half, but kinda lost me in the second hahaha. I enjoyed it I guess, but I wanted more. I loved the premise, the meeting on vacation and having a beautiful vacation as lowkey a couple, but really as a no strings attached fling - but then having to transition back home to real life was tough for Lyric and Devon! There’s alot of stuff at home to deal with and manage. I feel like there was almost too much going on for me to like appropriately follow the story - between Devon’s trauma and Lyric’s being a business woman, adoptee, who doesn’t speak up for herself and like a GAGGLE of friends. It was a lot to keep up with and manage in such a short story.
Overall maybe read. Idk!
