The Push by Ashley Audrain

This was a stay up way past my bedtime, read until my eyes hurt kind of book. A compelling, compulsive unsettling novel wbich holds up a mirror to society's expectations for women to be mothers and the pressures that places on those that don't want to and those that perhaps shouldn't. Following three generations of disfunctional mothers we watch the story of Blythe unfold and her struggle to become the mother she feels that she should be. However, all this being said, nothing is quite as it seems and there is a chilling undertone to this tale that will have you devouring it and pressing it into fellow reader's hands so you can ask "Well?!" Out in 2021 I predict this will be something big and the book on many lips for months to come.
