3.0

The book follows an unnamed main character who is an alcoholic and genuinely enjoys causing emotional pain in any woman he ever dates. The story starts from there and follows him through the next 10 years.

If you are only looking for a short book with an enjoyable story, lovable characters and a nice ending, then this is definitely the wrong book. If solely judged on how good of a story this is, then it would be 1⭐️.
The book provokes you to hate the main character, you shouldn’t start feeling sorry for him and you are supposed to question how reliable his story telling is since he mentions multiple times that he has paranoia.

If who however consider the shock factor and how appalling it is, then it gets interesting. You get insight into the mind of someone who is seriously sick and twisted. And that part is, if not enjoyable, fairly interesting.
It intriguing and outrageous to listen to all his excuses, explanations and generally his thoughts. He never at any point seriously regrets what he did and mainly blames it on the alcohol (which could be true but his thoughts remain just as horrible when he is sober).

But still, the writing is not the best and I feel like the pace within the book is simultaneously rushed and excruciatingly slow.

So it’s 3⭐️ since it is a horrible story but an interesting twist and insight into the villains brain.
