The Exile by Diana Gabaldon

4.0

This is my very first graphic novel, and I only bought it because it was Outlander and I found it cheap at a thrift shop. I picked it up because I wanted a quick read, and I have to say that I was surprised to find that I enjoyed it. I appreciate the new perspective of the story that Diana provided. I learned some things I had not realized before. I don't think that readers who have not read the actual Outlander book would enjoy it as much as those who have. I recommend knowing the story before going to the graphic novel.

I have one complaint about the book. Although the pictures were beautiful, I had real difficulty telling any of the male characters apart, and that made at least the first third of the book fairly confusing for me. Once I sorted them out, the rest of the book was more enjoyable.
