Rose in Chains

Honestly, marketing and PR are doing this book - and its author - such a disservice by promoting it as Dramione fanfic, when it's been rewritten so beautifully and amazingly well that it can easily stand on its own.
(FYI; I've never read the OG fanfic and have only read 1 other fanfic in my life before, so I only talk based upon reading this)
I loved how we experienced all the secrets unfold besides Briony; And how you definitely know a whole lot more is going on than what meets the eye. I couldn't stop devouring this book in anticipation for getting answers.
Also highly enjoyed the romance brewing between the two; I had honestly expected it to be a whole lot more fast-paced, but I was pleasantly surprised by the slow-burn and their interactions; it gave everything more meaning and made them feel a bit more realistic. At certain points I did feel their back-and-forth was more made to extend the plot, as some of their reactions didn't make as much sense (ie, extremely naive / very seductive ).
I was also loving how dark and devastating the story got at some points - it gave the story and world-building a lot more dimension.
