The Last Correspondent by Soraya M. Lane
4.0

This is my second Soraya Lane book, and I can assure anyone who is interested that it won't be my last.

The Last Correspondent is a story of three women set in WWII. It's a story of the strength and bravery of women, not only fighting against the physical enemy, but the enemy of sexism. Sexism is still with us, but nothing like it was.

Ella, a female reporter operating under a male-sounding pseudonym, is fired when her gender is discovered, and for no other reason. She eventually finds another role that sends her to London to cover women's topics in the war zone.

Danni, a female photographer, we find in Sicily with her writing partner and long time friend. Because she's a woman, she and Andy are sent back to London.

Chloe, Andy's sister, is a model who fell in love with a magazine editor on a photoshoot in Paris. She is determined to go back to France and find him despite the war.

This is a very well written book. The three main characters grow during the telling of their tale.

I won't tell you more because it's an easy, and engaging read.

I highly recommend it.
