Off Season by Jack Ketchum

Damn.
That was an intense, fast paced horror novel that feels like it reads as quickly as you can watch its 90 minute B movie equivalent. The last decade or so of torture porn genre films share a lot with this unabridged version of a 1980 novel about Maine cannibals. Not for the squeamish. Very little about this book is predictable either, although the denouement at the cave feels inevitable.
