And let me tell you, this series is WOW! It is YA. The character starts the series around age 13 or 14 and you following to his 18th birthday. I really enjoyed this series and wish it was around when I was around those ages. It would have easily been a favorite! The characters are likable. The worldbuilding is immense and always growing but it's nice. It makes the world feel real. The writing is easy to absorb.
The plot develops nicely however there were times that I wish it'd move on a little faster. Some books early on just felt like they dragged a bit with the waiting for the truth to drop. Each book had it's own main plot along with progressing subplots. Plot holes didn't last long which was nice. The sending of the series was a nice happily ever after. I felt a little let down by it however I think that's just the influence from dark fantasy I read nowadays.
