Fear of Falling by Georgia Beers

3.5/5 stars

This was such a heartwarming and sweet romance. If you are looking for a feel-good and relatively low-angst read, this is definitely one to pick up. This is another manager-musician romance (because I am honestly binging all the celebrity romance books this year) and it did it well. It had that lightly “forbidden” feel, it had a strong focus on empowering Sophie as her own artist/person rather than being controlled by men in her life and also touched on overcoming grief.

While I enjoyed the romance, the sweet tropes (like bed sharing) and the friendships in this novel, it didn’t stand out for me. While I definitely saw the chemistry and budding romance between Dana and Sophie, I wasn’t sold completely on their love and emotional connection. It just went a little too fast once they started admitting their physical feelings. Despite this, I enjoyed Georgia Beer’s writing and am looking forward to reading more from her.
