Taming Demons for Beginners by Annette Marie

5.0

Do I have words for how much I love this book? No, not really.
I have read so many books that have similar themes. Romance, Fantasy, Magic, Demons, NA, YA and so, so, so much more. But this? This book and the series it begins? Man, AMAZING. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. The world building is beautiful and realistic (within the bounds of fantasy). Everything links together like it actually would. It's as if Annette Marie has visited an actual world identical to the Guild Codex: Demonized, and simply copied it all down. There are so many beautiful touches to the storyline and writing that just bring it and the characters to life. Don't even get me started on the characters though. I just wish I could erase my memory and re-experience this book over and over again.

And the dynamic between Robin and the demon? (I won't name because it spoils it ever so slightly) WOW! So unique! And so.. real. They both have their own thoughts and characters and they both have their imperfections too so their interactions as they go through the book are just so intricate, and you just can't help but want to turn the page faster just so you can see where it goes next. Ugh. I could probably write an essay about how much I love this book. And I like a lot of books! But this one. I never write reviews for books, but The Guild Codex: Demonized has my heart.

P.S. This review kind of applies to the whole series, but I'm putting it here because this is the start, and Annette Marie deserves some kind of Nobel Prize for this, so if you've read this far and you haven't started reading it yet, what are you waiting for? Have pigs started flying outside your window? Has the apocalypse begun? I didn't think so. If you want to experience something just as stimulating, this book. Pick it up. Yeah, don't be shy. Pick it up. There's no reason for you not to read this, and every reason for you to pick it up and just have the best ride of your life.

Damn.. I should be sponsored. I probably would promote this for free if she asked me to.

Anyway, why are you still reading this? Robin is waiting for you. Be careful though, once you enter this world, you might not want to leave, so get comfy.
