Float Plan by Trish Doller

5.0

10 months after the dead of her fiancée, Anna Beck is still floundering when she gets an alert on her phone remaindering that their sailing voyage was supposed to start. Deciding to throw caution to the wind, she ventures out on his sailboat intending to follow his plan down to Trinidad to the spot that they were supposed to get married. After a few treacherous days at sea, she decides to hire the kind Irishman who helped her out of a drunken encounter.

What follows is a sweet story about healing, love, and finding your own path, which may have included the cutest dog in the world!!

I thought it handed the discussions of suicide with grace and finesse, and way Anna was able to heal from the experience was beautiful to watch. The novel itself was short, sweet and didn't ramble. There were some spicy scenes but they felt like they were in service to the story and not just smut for smut sake. (Not that some good smut is a bad thing!!!)
