The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
3.0
The entire time I read the book what kept jumping out at me was how two dimensional so many of the characters were and remained through the story. I believe this is done intentionally but it was incredibly frustrating to experience as a reader; I’m used to my expectations being either confirmed or subverted by development, and this never really happened.
The twist ending saved the book from being two stars but the payoff doesn’t seem worth what I had to go through to get there.
