Lärjungen by Hans Rosenfeldt, Michael Hjorth

3.0

It stared a solid 4 stars, fast paced, engaging, a real page-turner and ended a 3-3.5. At over 700 pages, and when you already know “whodunnit”, it dragged quite a bit. The length of this book could be cut in half and the pacing and tension would be the better for it. Overall a good Scandinavian police procedural for fans of “silence if the lambs” and the like.

Side note: There are a few intolerably idiotic characters in this story of which one very annoying and delusional character named Ellinor that made me want to put the book down every time she appeared.
