Runaways Vol. 8: Dead End Kids by Brian K. Vaughan
3.75
Another romp in New York but make it time travel.
Honestly, I really enjoyed this one. The time travel, the random characters added that had just enough character to pique my interest, the funny little one liners (we know where those came from), and the whole time travel arc itself. There were still cringe moments where something offensive and completely unnecessary was added but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not surprised. There was a lot going on, and I think the way it wrapped up made it worth it. I love Karolina, and I love Molly, and I wanted to love Nico more but she's still pretty badass regardless.
This is the last Runaways comic I'll be reading because I heard they're downhill from here, but I'll still see them in the Young Avenger cross over. For me, this feels like a great way to end their story. It's hopeful, there was some character growth, and things seemed to be continuing on but with some new lessons learned. Pretty pleased with it.
