I'm not as good with horror as I used to be. Maybe it's having lived long enough to know that really bad things can happen in real life.

I got though this book, but there were quite a few times when I had to take a break and think about something else. That's how unsettling I found a lot of this book. But it's well-written and it managed to pull me along through the story.

I kinda liked the fact that a fat man who was also a geek was one of the Good Guys.

So many stories that employ some kind of magic make the magic seem like just another tool, to be wielded without any cost to the user. This book knows better than that. I liked that too.

I don't know that I would read it again or even that I can say I enjoyed it. Enjoyed isn't the right word for a story that mad me so uncomfortable. But it was well-done and probably worth reading.
