Intoxication by Charlene Namdhari

“Even if my brain fails me, my heart will never forget its first love.”

*I took the author and reviewers’ advice to start this book with an open mind. I’m so glad I did and I highly recommend you do the same.* Think contemporary Cinderella, but make it age-gap, billionaire, love triangle, first love romance. I have never wanted to sneak a peek at the end of a book more in my life! Not because I wasn’t enjoying the book, but because my heart & soul were aching to know who won Sia’s heart. This is my first book by Charlene Namdhari, and I am officially obsessed with the Serendipity series. I loved Charlene’s characters, storytelling style, and be still my heart some of the best “she’s mine” swoontastic moments I’ve ever read. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, waiting to hear what these characters would do/say next. I held my breath a few times. And oh.my.goodness, the spice! Oof, Prince/Drake was hot AF! I don’t usually choose love triangle or cheating tropes, but the way Charlene wove this story, it totally worked for me.

I FLOVE Aiden Snow’s rough, growly voice and he was perfectly cast as Drake. Intoxication was the most passionate performance and one of my favorite narrations of his yet. Connor Hayes and Yami Habibi were new-to-me narrators. I loved their performances! Yami was a force, she carried listeners through Sianna’s character arc with a flawless performance. Connor Hayes was delightful and moving in his performance as Rayden. I loved these three; Yami & Aiden were deliciously well matched, Yami and Connor were a lovely balance together, and Aiden and Connor’s father and son dynamic was perfect.
